Prayer

Loving Father, I offer you everything I do this day -- my thoughts, works, joys and sufferings. I desire to join my heart this day to the heart of your Son, who gave himself up totally to your service and to the service of others. Give me your Spirit so that I can live according to your will in every way.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen.

On Prayer -Talking With God

Let the word of Christ
dwell in you richly.
Colossians 3:16

Devotional reading of the Scriptures is a prayer exercise that has helped many of us overcome the barriers that keep us from a deeper and more authentic relationship with God. Praying the scriptures involves selecting a short scripture passage and reading it slowly and repeatedly, letting God's words speak to our heart.

"You have heard that it was said,
'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."
Matthew 5:43-44

Praying For Others

What Is Prayer Walking?

At its most basic level, prayer walking is simply walking and praying at the same time. How one walks and prays, however, takes many forms around the world and in different faith traditions.
To some people, prayer walking is a deeply contemplative exercise in which a person walks at a very slow pace while opening one's self up to God. Others use prayer walking as a form of blessing the world, asking that God bring peace or other benefits to the lives of those whose footsteps fall on the same pavement or path.

A final word: Be strong with the Lord's mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.
~ Ephesians 6:10-12
